Murchison falls national park is Uganda's oldest & largest park covering an area of 3,840 sq.km. This park is bisected by the victoria Nile which plunges 45m over the remant rift valley wall creating the dramatic murchison falls. This magnificent park is home to over 76 mammal species and hosts about 450 different bird specie. Notable visitors to Murchison falls National Park include Winston Churchill, Ernest Hemingway, Theodore Roosevelt and many others. Your visit places you among the above individuals. This trip also involves rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary thus giving you a possible view of all the big5 game animals; lion,elephant,buffalo,leopard & rhino.

ITENERARY

DAY 1: HOTEL – ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Picked up in the morning from your hotel/place of stay in a customized pop-up safari van and depart to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, home to 15 white rhinos and approximately 20 other wildlife species. The rhinos roam freely on 3,500 acres of land and they are closely monitored 24hours to protect them from poaching, there will be a short drive followed by 2-3hours walking, tracking and viewing with a ranger. Closed shoes, long trousers and insect repellent are highly recommended. Enjoy a picnic lunch after tracking before heading to the park. {16:00} Arrive at the lodge check in briefly and head out for an evening game drive which lasts for 3hours and back to the lodge for a night.

DAY 2.

Depart at 06:15 for the early morning game drive on the north bank, taking along a packed breakfast from the lodge. Enjoy a 4-5 hours’ game drive around the Albert, Victoria, Queen and Buligi game tracks. The northern part of the park is where park's game and bird-life can be viewed but please note; nothing is guaranteed. {11:00} Travel back to the lodge and enjoy lunch. Take a little break around the lodge and set yourself for the boat cruise. {13:00} Depart for a 3-hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. Along the way, you will be able to view a wide range of birds and wildlife; including numerous crocodiles, hippos at the river bank. Cold drinks are sold on board. {17:00} your tour guide/driver will pick you up off the boat take you back to the lodge for another night.

DAY 3.

Depart the lodge at 08:00am for the ferry crossing to the south bank and travel to the top of the falls. Take a guided walk around the thunderous Murchison falls. {11:30} Depart the top of the falls for lunch in Masindi before proceeding to Kampala. {18:30} Arrive back in Kampala between 17:00 and 18:30 depending on traffic.
